Shortbread recipe vegan cinnamon and orange. Simply delicious. A homemade vegetarian alternative to the Christmas sweets sadly full of animal fats.
Difficulty: medium
Preparation: 45 min.
Ingredients
• 250g 100% vegetable margarine
• 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
• 12 cup sugar (100 g.)
• 1 orange (which we will use 1 tablespoon striped fur and 2 tablespoons juice)
• 2 cups whole wheat flour (220 g.)
• 3 tablespoons cornstarch
• 1 pinch of salt
• 12 cup powdered sugar (to cover)
• 13 cup ground cinnamon (for coverage)
Preparation
We will beat margarine and granulated sugar until they form a fluffy cream. Then add all other ingredients (except the coverage the average cup of icing sugar and cinnamon third cup.) We will mix well with a fork.
We place a good piece of plastic wrap and let's take a little flour that will serve us well distributed so that the dough does not stick. We'll take over the dough and we'll spread while the wrap with plastic. In this first stage the dough is quite sticky and difficult to handle, but with the help of forming an elongated plastic goes round and uniform as we can tube.
While the plastic will close so that no air mass anywhere (since dry out) and we will put it in the fridge for an hour. After this time the dough should be much stronger and should be able to cut with relative ease, if not, should be left a little longer in the refrigerator.
We will remove the plastic and cut them out one by one tube shortbread dough that we have prepared. Place them on a baking sheet. If desired, you can use baking paper, this way it will be much easier to get the shortbread that are already made and put the following baked without fat spreads and flour the pan each time.
Shortbread bake at 150C for 15 minutes. Upon removal from the oven, they must be mounted on a rack and let cool about 5 minutes. Then a small plastic bag to put away the icing sugar and cinnamon to prepare coverage. Will shortbread inside the bag, and we will close well, leaving enough space inside for the shortbread can move, we will stir gently to coat well. Then we place them on a plate and ready to serve.
